Short version: Foundry is a private, honest mentor for teenagers exploring skilled careers. You control your information: nothing you create is shared with any adult unless you turn it on, one person and one category at a time. We store what the app needs to be a mentor over time, we never sell your data, and analytics are limited to anonymous counters that carry no personal content.
Foundry is intended for high-school students aged 16 and older. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.
To be a mentor that remembers you, Foundry stores the following on our servers, tied to your account:
Voice input during the interview is transcribed on your device by Apple's speech recognition; the audio is not sent to us.
We use it only to provide Foundry to you: to run the mentor, remember your progress, and show a trusted adult only what you have chosen to share. We do not use your content to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.
Foundry's mentor is powered by Anthropic's Claude models. To generate a response, the relevant parts of your conversation and profile are sent to Anthropic's API for processing and returned to the app. Anthropic does not train its models on this data.
Foundry is private by default. A counselor, parent, or coach can see your information only if you add them and turn on specific categories for them. You can change or turn off any of these at any time, and they take effect within seconds. There is no "see everything" access, and no adult is given your data without your action.
We use TelemetryDeck to understand where people fall out of the experience so we can improve it. These signals are strictly anonymous counters and coarse categories — for example, that an interview reached a certain step, or that a screen was shown. They never include your name, your answers, the Portrait, a reflection, or any other personal content. We do not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.
Foundry offers an optional auto-renewing subscription. Payments are processed entirely by Apple; we never see or handle your payment details. Whether a subscription is active is determined on your device by Apple (StoreKit). If your school provided a one-time access code, redeeming it records that your account is unlocked and when that access expires — nothing more.
Your profile stays with your account so the mentor can remember you over the years. You can start over from within the app, which clears your Portrait, paths, reflections, and sharing. To have your account and its data deleted, contact us at the address below.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The service providers involved are Apple (sign-in, payments, on-device speech), Anthropic (the AI mentor), TelemetryDeck (anonymous analytics), and our email provider for sign-in codes. Each receives only what is needed for its function.
